Pastor Chris D. Plant, Jr. is a visionary faith leader, scholar, emerging author, and transformational voice whose ministry stands at the intersection of theology, philosophy, and community empowerment. A native of White Castle, Louisiana and a resident of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana. Pastor Plant’s life journey reflects resilience, refinement, and divine purpose.

He currently serves as Pastor of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where his leadership is marked by dynamic preaching, community engagement, and a commitment to spiritual transformation. Known for blending theological depth with philosophical insight, Pastor Plant has become a respected voice challenging individuals and communities to move beyond survival into purpose, empowerment, and awakening.

Pastor Plant earned his Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a double major in Philosophy and Religious Studies. His academic journey reflects both intellectual rigor and spiritual depth, cultivating a scholarly foundation that continues to shape his preaching, leadership, and theological vision. He is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at the prestigious Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, further deepening his commitment to theological scholarship, prophetic ministry, and transformative leadership.

Beyond the pulpit and classroom, Pastor Plant is deeply committed to mentorship, civic engagement, and the advancement of young Black leadership. He is a proud member of 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge, reflecting his dedication to service, leadership development, and community empowerment. An emerging author, Pastor Plant is preparing to release his upcoming book this summer entitled From Revelation to Responsibility: When the Word Demands More. The work reflects his passion for theological reflection, spiritual accountability, and transformative living, challenging readers to move beyond inspiration into intentional action and purpose.

Pastor Plant is married to his beloved wife, Shena Rambo Plant, and together they are the proud parents of three children: Braxtyn Dumas, Brailyn Dumas, and Ashton Plant. His devotion to family serves as both an anchor and inspiration for his ministry and leadership.
